The talk covers managing that application complexity: tuning latency through antenna and transmission settings while working within regulatory requirements, and what those lessons from telecommunications engineering mean for Kubernetes deployments in general.

It shows how cloud-native tooling (Helm, FluxCD and Kubernetes operators) tames the operational complexity of running 4G and 5G network functions on commodity clusters.

Links

Session page on Sched

Slides (PDF)

FluxCD to reconcile cellular network applications

I was a guest speaker at La Hora de Kubernetes, an online community meetup in Spanish, on 11 September 2025.

Talk: Beneficios de usar FluxCD para reconciliar aplicaciones de redes celulares en Kubernetes

Idea: practical GitOps. I helped organize it and spoke.

Talk: Enhancing Stability and Enabling Cloud-Native Capabilities for Private Cellular Networks

Idea: bring cloud-native resilience patterns (health probes, rolling upgrades and GitOps reconciliation) to private 4G and 5G running as containerized workloads on Kubernetes.

Links

Slides (PDF)

Event page on Meetup

How I passed the 5 CNCF certifications to become a Kubestronaut

I received the Kubestronaut title, and I wrote up how it went on Medium.

It started with a real project: migrating a telecom private cellular network from Docker Compose to Helm on Kubernetes without a complete Kubernetes background. The cluster did not behave as expected and I did not know which resources to create or how to structure a Helm chart. I turned that into a learning mission, and the certifications gave me a clear mental map of Kubernetes.

A few of the 20 recommendations from the article:

Do not follow anyone’s study method blindly. Each person learns differently.

Master the Linux command line. It saves time in the exam.

Use the Kubernetes documentation and CLI help. Many questions are inspired by them.

Build your own labs and use mock exams, and work on real projects alongside the study.

Failing once or twice is fine. Reflect, study and retake it.

Teach what you have learned, because it reinforces your knowledge.

Read the full article on Medium. From the abstract: the proposal exhibits an improvement of one order of magnitude on generic x86 computers in the average computation time of the multipath channel, compared to the existing time-domain approach in downlink and uplink transmissions.

Links

IEEE Xplore

EURECOM publication page

NSGA-III benchmark dataset on IEEE DataPort
